The opening track is an attempt to rouse myself from a listless stupor. A kind of new year's resolution song that unsurprisingly coincided with the tail end of my 20s. Musically it was inspired by Butterflies Drowned In Wine by Smog, and fairly mutated from that initial spark of inspiration. A fear of becoming an ageing begrudger is really at the heart of this thing, and an acknowledgement of hiding insecurity with sarcasm or cynicism. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is open-heartedly fail.
