I’m quite attached to the idea of whimsy and humour as nothing to be scared of. Sometimes for me it’s the seemingly stupidest songs that matter most. During the pandemic I rediscovered my childhood obsession with football. The familiarity of Match Of The Day was a source of great comfort at a time of uncertainty. I was also aware of how utterly ridiculous elite level football is. Sometimes that’s best illustrated via a melodica solo.
